“Carousel”

I led a mural workshop with local artists as an education program through the Association for Visual Arts. The group had an hour to secure a design with a few stipulations and the agreement that there had to be full consensus. After brainstorming inspiration from the North Shore and Chattanooga, the group landed on the idea of the carousel (as inspired by the 1894 Dentzel carousel in Coolidge Park restored by Bud Ellis) and the nearby Smoky Mountains/Appalachian foothills as a back drop.

“River”
In partnership with the Arts in Healthcare program at CHI Memorial Hospital and in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
2020
A series of eight exchangeable and modular panels depicting a local creek bed. The panels were drawn in the style of a coloring book page and the panels were split into four groups and installed between three separate campuses of CHI Memorial Hospital in the Metropolitan Chattanooga Area. The panels were provided as a space for healthcare workers and hospital staff to process, vent, work through their experiences as first responders caring for patients in a global pandemic. The panels were left in place for several months and collected to be sealed with the potential for additional engagement.
